Hello everybody, just now I am sitting at my desk in Glaubitz and am listening to “Münchner Freiheit” (a famous German Pop-Band from the 80s I guess). Besides me lies my Norwegian book and the corresponding exercise book. Outside it is cloudy and it looks like rain and I am getting a little bit sentimental. Tomorrow I am going back to Greifswald to pack my things together – at least the ones which are supposed to be stored at my parents house. Until now I haven’t announced to much how it is going on after my studies – at most in outlines. But as most of you already now I am going to spend a year in Norway as Au-Pair from the end of July. The studies exhausted me more than I’d like to commit or as you would recognize and I would finally like to take the chance to activate my meanwhile buried creative talents.
Of course there are some ulterior motives like to find a job there and stay there longer. My last holidays (a week every of the last to years) infected my with the “Norway-virus”; and after the last one my yearnings to get back were insatiable.
A lot of you know that I have suffered from a “Sweden-“ or “Finland-period” with learning the language and so on. I have always been attracted by Scandinavian things. If you ask my dear boyfriend he can tell you I suffer (no, then mostly he suffers ;)) often from certain activity periods but with this one know I am really serious. At least I made it to lesson 15 (of 23) in my Norwegian-book. The working contract already has been signed; and the rest of the application form for the Norwegian I will send this week. Than there are seven days left to pack seven years life in Greifswald in boxes. There it goes, a part of my life, stored in cardboards again and with it a lot of remambrances and feelings. The nearer the end comes the more I feel queasy. Until now I could suppress those feelings but now I feel that at least the time as a student was the best time (yes, as a medicine student too) and this kind of freedom and light heartedness will not repeat itself in this special way. Well, now you are earning money and are able to burn the last bridges of dependence from home behind you. But I see also that you always loose and have to loose familiar things if you go a step further. I don’t like to loose things, especially if it comes to friends. I know that I can relay on my family, but how fast can you loose good friends out of sight and out of mind? That one of the reasons for this blog here then I am only a click away although I am thousands of kilometres far from you.
I hope you will use the opportunity and will drop by, leave comments or write something in my guestbook. If I have my friends around me I will never be lonely… I have ‘Skype’ too so if you want to chat or talk to me, I will be there ...
